What is a skinbooster?
Skinbooster is an injectable treatment that delivers hyaluronic acid evenly into the dermis, the layer of skin where hydration is held. Unlike the hyaluronic acid used to fill lips or cheeks, it uses a very fluid gel that adds no volume and does not change the shape of your face: it is distributed as a network of tiny deposits so the skin retains water.
Hyaluronic acid is a molecule our skin produces naturally and that holds water like a sponge. With age, sun, smoking or stress, the amount decreases and the skin becomes thinner, rougher and duller. Replenishing it gives the skin elasticity, smoothness and a radiance you can see in the way it reflects light.
It is a skin-quality treatment, not a volume treatment. It works very well on dehydrated skin, on fine lines caused by dryness, on sun-damaged necks and décolletés and on the hands.
At Centro Ubud it is performed by a doctor after analysing your skin. Depending on your case, they will choose a more or less dense product and the application technique: spread-out micro-injections or a fine cannula to minimise needle pricks.
After the session it is normal to see small bumps that disappear within hours. For a couple of days it is best to avoid direct sun, saunas and intense exercise, and not to wear make-up until the next day. From then on, daily sun protection is your best ally to make the hydration last longer.

Does skinbooster fill or change my face?
No. It uses a very fluid hyaluronic acid that hydrates the dermis without adding volume. Your features don’t change; what improves is the quality of your skin.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream is applied beforehand and many formulas contain a built-in anaesthetic. Most people describe it as mild discomfort.
How long does the effect last?
The hydration lasts several months, although it depends on your skin, your age and your habits. That is why regular maintenance is recommended.
