C-section and surgery
We improve the texture, colour and adhesions of abdominal and surgical scars, combining aesthetic techniques and physiotherapy.
A C-section scar, a surgical scar or stretch marks cannot be erased, but their texture, colour and the way the skin moves can be improved a great deal. We explain what is possible in your case.

A scar is the skin’s way of repairing a wound, and it does so with collagen that is more disorganised than the original. Depending on how that repair went, the scar may end up flat and pale, sunken (atrophic), raised but confined to the wound (hypertrophic) or growing beyond its edges (keloid). It may also be redder or darker than the surrounding skin.
C-section and abdominal surgery scars have an extra component: sometimes the skin stays stuck to the deeper layers, with a feeling of tightness, a dip or a small overhang above it. Stretch marks, for their part, are tears in the dermis caused by stretching; recent ones are reddish or purplish, and older ones are whitish and pearly.
That is why at Centro Ubud we start by identifying the type of scar, its age and its colour. We combine aesthetic medicine, performed by a doctor, for texture and tone, with physiotherapy when there are adhesions or tightness. What we aim for is a scar that is flatter, blends in better with the surrounding skin and feels more comfortable. Throughout the process it is essential to protect the scar from the sun, as exposure can darken it permanently.
Recent scars keep changing for many months. The sooner you see us, the sooner we can advise you on aftercare and the right time to treat.

Microneedling stimulates new collagen beneath the scar so it fills out and levels with the skin.

Reddish, more recent ones respond better. White ones improve in texture and become less noticeable, though they do not disappear.

We choose the techniques according to the type, age and colour of the scar.
Controlled micro-perforations that reorganise the collagen in the scar and improve its surface. It is done over several spaced-out sessions, because collagen remodels slowly and the improvement becomes visible over the months.
For scars or stretch marks that are darker than the skin. They are adapted to your skin type so as not to cause new pigmentation.
For adherent scars, physiotherapists use manual therapy and INDIBA radiofrequency to release the tissue and reduce tightness. They also teach you self-massage so you can continue at home between sessions.
See INDIBA in physiotherapyAfter each session we apply active ingredients that support skin repair and enhance the effect of the treatment.
